Can you feel the pain under the pec like in the ribs? Also is it a stabbing pain; and not necessarily all the time? Because I've had this and it's fcuking painful. It hurt often when I coughed or even took a breath. It was intercostal muscle spraining and took a good few weeks to completely heal and I'm still not sure what caused it to this day. Could be torn muscle too, maybe from deep heavy fly motion. Is it bruised or swollen? In any case I would get to your gp if it continues for too much longer.

thanks for the reply
its sort of between where the pec meets the front delt if you know what i mean? yeah its a very sharp pain that comes randomly im sitting here now not a hint of pain yet ive just drove the car and it really hurts trying to turn left(its my right pec) certain ways i move it the pain comes yet others its like i never injured it.
im at the docs at 4.30 so with a bit of luck i wont get the usual fobbing of with "you,ll be ok" or them stating the obvious

i do barbell presses from behind the neck and upright rows yeah,is that likely to be aggravating it?
the doc said he thinks ive torn some of the muscle fibres and said to mention it to my physio on tuesday and see if they can help if not ill have to go to physio twice.

Put it this way mate, it might just be a coincidence but i started doing behind the neck press and upright rows and it gave my right shoulder hell.
Had to stop doing certain things for about 6 weeks, i.e. benching, dips, etc... generally whatever hurt i didnt do for about 6 weeks.
It hurt when i did barbell rows, etc...
It did get better, but i did a lot of rotator cuff work as well during that 6 week period.

when i think about it,i havnt been doing BB presses from behind the head for that long same with upright rows so maybe this is why this pain has started a few month ago. the time scale is similar so ill drop these once i get back into training in the new year and think of something else to replace them with.
cheers for the reply mate
