What about capping supps like glucosamine sulphate & Chondroitin? I've seen these in tabs only, but is it okay to cap these (will they still be effective)?

Yeah please do K man.

Tabs and caps, it really makes no difference mate that i'm aware of. It's all the same basic ingredient.

Most of the bulk suppliers in the UK like Myprotein/Bulk Powders, etc sell powdered versions of both Glucosamine & Chondroitin quite cheaply (as well as just about every other OTC supplement that you can cap yourself). Actually, those two are what I've just had my first go at capping with.

Took 2 reads over email this but i got and had a bash but it didnt work out. Now i just cap the raw ingrediant in the amount needed. Time consuming you may say but in all honesty it would be equal to all the faffing about with the dillution method.

This is what i have found.

Get her to get you the Cap 'Em Quick machine mate (00 size) & a Tamper for packing the caps.

The other capping machine commonly available, The Capsule Machine is overly complicated, poorly designed & badly made: absolute junk IMO.

i got a set of scales for this but there knackered so im going to get another set anyone know any decent makes ?
Depends on how precise you need them to be, & how much you will use them mate.

If you want to spend £10-15, any of the generic ones on ebay.

If you don't mind paying £25-30, these are great: 20 year guarantee, & a very handy removable tray for weighing powder, which most don't have.

http://www.myprotein...hine-(size-00)/

That's what the girl got me. Very easy to use and have made 200 caps of my own Vit C.

Get vegetarian caps as they are not affected by moisture.

Getting there

Posted 05 October 2008 - 02:50 PM

Met up with TIO yesterday for training and mentioned geometric mixing and something I learned during my educational years, he suggested I post it here.

If you're wanting to mix a small amount of something (e.g. 5g powder) in with a couple of hundred grams of something like protein powder acting as filler, you'd use geometric mixing to help avoid uneven mixing.

The top tip is to use something strongly coloured like milk thistle (yellow orange) for the first mixing. Then when you're mixing in the latter stages (with white protein powder) it's very obvious when you've got an even mix as the colour is even.

It's best to use something you'd be taking as an ancillary anyway, hence the milk thistle suggestion.

Must of made 800 or so capsules yesterday, acetyl l cartinine, inositol, choline, piracetam and msm powder! took bl00dy ages, just using the L cartinine at the mo, definately a laborious task.
