Getting there

Posted 07 January 2010 - 08:00 AM

I can upload a new profile picture but it won't let me update a new avatar. I've tried uploading the file direct from my computer and also hosting the image/pasting the link. Either way when i click save changes it simply does not change. My current avatar remains as it is instead of the new one showing up. How do i get round this? File attached below.

Your browser cache has stored the old one on your hard disk - when you change you need to press CTRL-F5 (or wait a while) and it will update. Browsers do this to try to reduce the amount needed to download, but occasionally fail to pick up on changed content.

Your new avatar is showing correctly, just to confirm.

No problem - CTRL-F5 just forces the browser to load everything new, rather than rely on its cached material on the hard drive. Always a useful thing to try if a page isn't doing something that it should.
